Project Summary

The goals of the project are to advance fire recovery, avoid permanent type conversion, and reduce the risk of stand-replacing fires and catastrophic environmental, economic, and social loss. The project will restore damage within the Power Fire boundary and adjacent areas, accelerate the development of old forest characteristics, and reduce the risk of future fires in an effort to protect 1,915 acres in the project area. This RFP is specific to the post-fire reforestation thinning of natural stands and young mixed conifer plantings using hand treatment methods, and the reforestation interplanting in the Power Fire boundary. RFP total acres TBD.

Project Summary

The goals of the project are to advance fire recovery, avoid permanent type conversion, and reduce the risk of stand-replacing fires and catastrophic environmental, economic, and social loss. The project will restore damage within the Power Fire boundary and adjacent areas, accelerate the development of old forest characteristics, and reduce the risk of future fires in an effort to protect 1,915 acres in the project area. This RFP is specific to the post-fire reforestation thinning of 211 acres of natural stands and young mixed conifer plantings using hand treatment methods, and the reforestation interplanting of 146 acres in the Power Fire boundary.

Project Summary

CHIPS, working together with the Stanislaus National Forest (STF), has been awarded a CAL FIRE California Climate Investments (CCI) Fire Prevention (FP) Grant to conduct fuel break maintenance and expansion of the 2015 Butte Fire Dozer Line and the Village fuel break, and to conduct surface and ladder fuels reduction in and around the communities of Avery, Arnold, White Pines and Dorrington in Calaveras County.
