CHIPS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, established in 2008 in Calaveras County and now operates throughout California. Our organization’s work centers on forest stewardship with a focus on wildfire prevention, fuels reduction and forest restoration.
CHIPS performs large-scale forest fuels reduction throughout the Sierra Nevada, the Northern California Cascades and the Coastal Mountain range. CHIPS recruits, trains and equips crews throughout the mountain regions of California, with an emphasis on cooperation with Native American Tribes.
In addition to large forest projects, CHIPS also provides services for private land owners, in an effort to expand our wildfire prevention goals.
